The government is likely to make a new legislative amendment to remove support for this category

Counselor Nader Saad, a spokesman for the Council of Ministers, said that the Prime Minister stressed the governors to complete the presidential mandate in the file of removing encroachments on waterways within 6 months.

 Saad added, during a phone call to the "Al-Hayat Al-Youm" program, broadcast on Al-Hayat satellite channel: "There is no escape from removing the encroachments on the various waterways in all of Egypt's governorates."

 He pointed out: “The government follows modern technology in monitoring any infringements that take place on state lands in all Egyptian governorates,” explaining: “It is possible to take a legislative amendment to lift support for trespassers on agricultural lands and waterways and to increase the penalty for them.”
