The opening of the largest spinning factory in the world in Al-Mahalla Al-Kubra in the second half of 2022
Hisham Tawfiq, Minister of Public Business Sector, reviewed the executive position of the project to develop the factories of the Holding Company for Cotton, Spinning, Weaving and Clothing affiliated to the ministry, especially with regard to the construction work of new factories or the modernization of existing factories.
This came during the minister’s meeting with the contracting companies carrying out construction works in the spinning and weaving factories of 8 major companies resulting from the merger of 23 spinning and weaving companies, in the presence of the leaders of the Spinning and Weaving Holding Company and the engineering consultant for construction. According to the specified timetable, which includes about 65 buildings between new construction and restoration, at an estimated cost of about 7 billion pounds, in preparation for the installation of modern machines being imported from major international companies.
The presentation included the current situation of construction/development works for factories in Misr Spinning and Weaving Company in Mahalla al-Kubra, where the development project includes the establishment of a spinning factory (1), which is the largest spinning factory in the world on an area of 62.5 thousand square meters, implemented by Gama Construction Company, and the works are expected to be completed. Construction at the beginning of the second half of 2022, with a contractual value of 780 million pounds.
The presentation also included the development of a spinning factory (4) in the Misr Spinning and Weaving Company in Mahalla al-Kubra, on an area of 24,600 meters, with a contractual value of 251 million pounds, the implementation of the engineering company for integrated works, and construction work is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2022. ), with an area of 17.7 thousand square meters, and the implementation is carried out by the Arab Contractors Company, with a contractual value of 216 million pounds.
